Caddo Nation claiming pottery that was donated to Goodwill

The Caddo Nation of Oklahoma is laying claim to a piece of pottery that was donated to Goodwill in New York.

Goodwill found the item at a warehouse. It came with a note that said: "Found in a burial mound near Spiro Oklahoma in 1970."

Goodwill put the item for sale online but pulled it after people recognized the pottery as historic and significant. The organization has since been in touch with the Caddo Nation.

Spiro Mounds is considered an ancestral Caddo site.
