City to name bridge after Richard Milanovich of Agua Caliente

The city council in Palm Springs, California, voted unanimously to name a bridge after Richard Milanovich, the late leader of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians.

Milanovich, who died on March 11 at the age of 69, lobbied for the bridge. “Dad was a great member of this community and to see this bridge being named after him is truly an honor,” Sean Milanovich told the city council, The Palm Springs Desert Sun reported.

The $2.2 million bridge is expected to be completed this summer.
