Council for Native American Farming and Ranching sets meet

The Council for Native American Farming and Ranching will hold its first meeting in Washington, D.C., next week.
The council was created by the
Keepseagle settlement
over discrimination at the
Department
of Agriculture. Its members will advise Secretary Tom Vilsack on ways to eliminate
barriers to participation for Native American farmers and ranchers.
The meeting takes place in the Patron Lounge of the
National Museum of the American Indian on August 14-15 and is open to the public.
The council will meet from 8am to 5pm each day.
