George Flett, artist from Spokane Tribe, passes away at 66

George Flett, a member of the Spokane Tribe of Washington who was recognized for his ledger art, died on Wednesday. He was 66.

Flett preserved tribal legends, history and other events on ledgers. He also worked in sculpture, beadworking and silversmithing.

"He will always be with not just me, but everyone that knew him,” fellow artist Ric Gendron told The Spokesman Review. “Everybody loved him. It’s just a great loss.”
