Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe sets new date for council election





The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe of Massachusetts has set February 24 as the new date for its council election.

Five seats, including the chairman, are up for grabs. Incumbent chairman Cedric Cromwell is facing challenges from David Pocknett and Richard Oakley.

The tribe will also elect a vice chairman, treasurer, secretary and an at-large tribal council member.
