Southern Ute Tribe awarded federal grant to boost radio signal





The Southern Ute Tribe of Colorado is expanding its radio station with the help of a federal grant.

KSUT Tribal Radio will be able to reach 30,000 new listeners, director Sheila Nanaeto said. The signal now reaches into the New Mexico portion of the Navajo Nation.

KSUT 89.7 FM received a $110,000 grant from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration. The tribe matched the grant with another $35,000.
