Quechan Nation mourns loss of head singer Willard Golding Sr

The Quechan Nation is mourning the loss of Willard Golding Sr., the tribe's head bird singer.

Golding died on Tuesday from complications of pneumonia, The Yuma Sun reported. He was 70.

“We are losing a very valuable person in the community, not just Winterhaven, not just Yuma, not just the Quechan. He was a pillar of the whole community," his son Lyman Golding told the paper.

Golding dedicated his life to passing on tribal traditions.
