Mohawk woman admits to smuggling reptiles across border

Olivia J. Terrance, a member of the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe of New York, pleaded guilty to smuggling reptiles across the U.S.-Canada border.

Terrance admitted that she smuggled hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of alligators, tortoises and other reptiles into Canada. She did so without an export permit, federal authorities said.

Terrance's cousin, Dennis Day, was also charged. His case is on hold pending the resolution of charges he is facing in Canada.
