Oklahoma tribes partner on wind farm at old boarding school

The Kaw Nation, the Pawnee Nation, the Ponca Nation and the Otoe-Missouria Tribe are working together on a wind farm at the site of the former Chilocco Indian School.
The farm will house up to 45 wind turbines. It will generate enough power to offset fossil fuel usage from 31,000 homes, The Native American Times reported.
The facility is expected to come online in early 2014. The tribes are working with PNE Wind USA.
