Senate Judiciary Committee holds hearing for DC Circuit pick





The Senate Judiciary Committee holds a confirmation hearing this morning for Patricia Ann Millett for a seat on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Millett, who has has argued 32 cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, has extensive experience in Indian law. She recently won a decision on behalf of tribal interests in Arizona v. Inter Tribal Council of Arizona, a voting rights case.

She also authored a brief in support of the Indian Child Welfare Act for Adoptive Couple v. Baby Girl. The decision went against the Cherokee Nation father but the court did not disturb ICWA.

The hearing takes place at 10am in Room 226 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building. It is being webcast.
