Video: Sherman Alexie Announces Open Road Media Ebook Release
Author/poet/comedian/screenwriter/filmmaker Sherman Alexie has reached an agreement for his back collection to be published electronically. Alexie was a holdout on electronic books due to concerns about the way the business operates. In particular, he has accused Amazon of trying to monopolize every aspect of the publishing industry but he said he wanted to ensure his works reach a new generation of readers. "I still have serious issues with the politics and economic philosophies involved in much of the electronic book world but I’m also vitally interested in reaching more of my readers and reaching a younger generation of readers who are more technologically savvy and tech addicted, and in order to reach them I have to do this," Alexie said in a video posted by Open Road Integrated Media, which will publish the works in various electronic formats.
