Another person charged in theft of nearly $1M from Yurok Tribe

Federal authorities charged a biologist in connection with the theft of nearly $1 million from the Yurok Tribe of California.

Ron LeValley is accused of conspiring to embezzle from an Indian tribal organization. Authorities say he worked with the tribe's former forestry director to submit false and inflated invoices to the tribe.

Roland Raymond, the former director, pleaded guilty for his role in the scheme. He is cooperating with federal investigators and will be asking for a lighter sentence when he is due in court on November 5.

A second biologist allegedly participated in the scheme but has not been charged so far.
