Writer claims opponents of the stereotypical Chief Wahoo mascot don't really care about Native Americans:
Once Wahoo is gone, will you then direct your venom toward a sustained attack on some of the other devastating social challenges that face the American Indian, issues such as:

Lack of education. Native Americans have the highest primary school dropout rate of any ethnic group.

Child mortality rate. Native Americans lead the nation.

Suicide rate. Native Americans lead the nation.

Teenage pregnancy rate. Native Americans are consistently among the highest in the nation.

Life expectancy. Native Americans have the lowest life expectancy among all U.S. ethnic groups.

Sexual assaults on reservations. One in three American Indian women have been raped or have experienced an attempted rape, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
