More than 150 artists from Zuni Pueblo tried to sell their work to the Original Americans Foundation, KOB-TV reported.

The Washington NFL team's foundation went to the reservation on Monday to buy local art. It wasn't reported whether there were any sales but one artist was happy for the attention.

"I wish more NFL teams would think that way to go and help out more of the indigenous communities around the US," artist Daryl Shack told KOB.

The tribe announced the visit on its Facebook page last week. The post has drawn more than 100 comments and not everyone on the reservation was as welcoming as Shack.

"I'm gonna make a poster saying, 'I am a Zuni artist and I refuse to be bought by the Washington Redskins,'" Masika Sweetwyne wrote.

Team owner Dan Snyder announced the foundation in March. At the time, he said its mission is to "provide meaningful and measurable resources that provide genuine opportunities for tribal communities."

Other than naming Gary Edwards, a member of the Cherokee Nation as the CEO, Snyder hasn't released its polices and guidelines, selected a board of leaders, identified the source of its funds or shared other organizational details.
