Employees of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians in Michigan are receiving bonuses and pay raises. The bonuses will be paid before Christmas. The 3 percent raise kicks in next month. "I am grateful for all team members for what they do to sustain our operations as a tribe," Chairman Aaron Payment said in a press release. The raises are the first for tribal employees in seven years. Future raises will occur on a more regular schedule, Payment said.
