Seneca Nation prepares for tribal council election in November

The Seneca Nation of New York is heading into election season.

Todd Gates, Sally Snow and J.C. Seneca are running for president, according to news reports. Gates currently serves as treasurer of the tribe while Snow and Seneca have sought the president's position in the past.

Maurice A. John, Sr. is the incumbent president but cannot seek the same office due to a ban on consecutive terms. He is now running for treasurer.

The election takes place November 1, TWC News reported.
