OCTOBER 20, 2000 Steven LeBlanc, an anthropologist from Harvard University, says warfare among Pueblo communities was common during periods of drought and a shortage of natural resources. LeBlanc bases his theory on patterns of settlement of Pueblo villages in the 1200s and 1300s. He will present his views at the School of American Research in Santa Fe, New Mexico next week.
