JANUARY 11, 2001 Estranged members of the Buffalo Point First Nationa are engaged in a battle with their chief and his family, who they say is not Indian yet controls all aspects of band finances and affairs. Many of the estranged members live in the United States. The Department of Indian Affairs brokered an agreement between then and Chief Jim Thunder, ordering new elections, but apparently it fell through. Get the Story:
