Death of grave-digger ruled a suicide

MONDAY, JUNE 17, 2002

An Alaska man who was convicted of removing the skull of an Alaska Native child from a grave site, died last month after shooting himself in the head, authorities said.

Ian Lynch was the first person in the state convicted for grave-robbing. He served three months on a misdemeanor charge after an appeals court kicked out a felony indictment.
