Native youth take on leadership roles

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 2002 Native youth took part of the 59th annual National Congress of American Indians last week. The youth had their own parallel conference in which they selected new leaders for the NCAI Youth Commission. Russell Blacksmith, 19, Oglala Lakota, and Shilo Smith, 18, Gila River, were chosen as the male and female representatives. Get the Story:
