Kenneth Reels, former chairman of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut, suggest his tribe would seek an off-reservation casino if the Eastern Pequot Tribal Nation were to do so.

"We support the Eastern Pequots and their right to create their own economic base, but we should all have to play by the same rules," he said in remarks reported by The New London Day.

The Eastern Pequot tribe, whose federal recognition is being finalized, has a 224-acre reservation but doesn't to use it for a casino development. The tribe is looking elsewhere, prompting Reels' remarks.
