Powwow caps off awareness week

OCTOBER 9, 2000 The Yap-Keehn-Um Powwow at the North Idaho College in Coeur d'Alene caps of the school's week long American Indian Awareness Week. Besides dancing, the week features arts and crafts, food, lectures, presentations, and a performance by Jim Boyd. Boyd's song "Where is Your Honor, Mr. Gorton" is nominated for Song of the Year in this year's Native American Music Awards. The host drum is Wildhorse, from Saskatchewan, Canada. The powwow takes place on Friday and Saturday. Get the Story:
