A Bemidji State University study shows that employment on the Red Lake reservation in Minnesota has outpaced local Beltrami County by more then 3 to 1 during the five years and that average wages have increased 42 percent compared with 16 percent for the county.

The study's authors say there is great potential for the tribe to become an economic powerhouse. They also say gaming has helped the tribe.
