County weighs appeal of White Earth trust land ruling

Officials in Mahnomen County, Minnesota, are considering a challenge to the White Earth Band of Ojibwe's trust land bid.

The Bureau of Indian Affairs agreed to take land into trust for the tribe. The county will lose about $1 million in property taxes a year as a result.

The tribe has agreed to pay $70,000 a year to the city of Mahnomen for municipal services.
