Civil rights leader to visit Pine Ridge Reservation

Martin Luther King III, the son of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., is visiting the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota today.

King is coming to Pine Ridge as part of a nationwide tour on poverty. Russell Means, an Oglala Sioux tribal member, is helping arrange the visit.

"Martin King III decided to do what America is not doing and pay attention to our concerns," Means told The Lincoln Journal Star. "His fathers dream hasnt been realized yet."

Activist Duane Martin Sr. hopes King will learn more about the sale of alcohol in Whiteclay, a border town near the reservation.
