Pawlenty Ad: Tribes not paying fair share to state

Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R) appears in a new radio ad calling on tribes to pay their "fair" share in gaming revenues to the state.

Pawlenty appears in the ad on behalf of a Republican candidate. In it, he says tribes in other states have reached revenue-sharing deals.

"I know that tribal gaming has brought in billions of dollars, but it's time that the state get a fair deal like they have in other states and that the tribes should pay some of that money to the state," he says.

Pawlenty asked tribal leaders to meet on Thursday to discuss gaming. Only one tribe has agreed but his office claims other tribes want to meet in the future.
