NIGA develops network to combat casino crime

The National Indian Gaming Association [Web Site] on Tuesday announced the development of EagleIntel, an intelligence network designed to combat casino crime throughout Indian Country.

The Indian Gaming National Intelligence Network was the result of two years of work, tribal officials said. It cost $10,000 to start up and will be maintained by user fees.

The system is based on the Internet. Users will be able to log in and obtain up-to-date information about people suspected of cheating casinos.

Tribal officials at the National Press Club said similar systems have functioned on a regional level. But EagleIntel is the first nationwide network, they said.
