Comanche Nation voters seek share of casino profits

printer friendly
Members of the Comanche Nation of Oklahoma will share in the tribe's casino profits under a plan recently approved by voters.

Each person will receive about $900 a year, The Oklahoman reports. The tribe has 12,500 members.

Chairman Wallace Coffey opposes per capita payments. He said the payments will take up $11.6 million of the $29 million the tribe expects to make from its four casinos this year. The tribe will have to drop a proposed hotel and convention center as a result, Coffey said.
