House Republicans are calling a vote this summer on a bill to ban most forms of Internet gaming.
The measure has generated some high-stakes lobbying. Las Vegas casinos, Major League Baseball, celebrity poker players, the horse racing industry and Christian groups are among the groups aiming to influence the outcome.
Online gaming is a $12 billion industry, according to The New York Times. Most countries allow it in some form but the Department of Justice says it's illegal in the U.S.
