The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community has joined opposition to the Tohono O'odham Nation off-reservation casino.

The Salt River Tribe says the proposed casino will violate the tribal-state gaming compact. It will also lead to a 16 percent drop in revenues at Salt River's casinos, President Diane Enos said in a letter.

The tribe hasn't joined litigation against the casino but Enos told The Arizona Republic, "We are looking at all avenues right now.

The Gila River Indian Community is suing the Bureau of Indian Affairs to block approval of the Tohono O'odham Nation's land-into-trust application. A hearing in federal court took place last week.
