Federal authorities in California are accusing 14 people of using ATMs at tribal casinos to steal more than $1 million from Citibank.

The crime ring exploited a technology flaw in Citibank's system, The Riverside Press-Enterprise reported. The defendants were able to repeatedly withdraw money from their accounts by using ATM kiosks at five tribal casinos and other gaming establishments in Nevada.

The tribes themselves were not affected by the theft. However, some defendants were offered free hotel rooms because it appeared they were gambling large amounts at the casinos.
