The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians of North Carolina has tabled a resolution affecting a second casino, The Cherokee Scout reports.

The tribal council has been pursuing a Class II facility in Cherokee County. But some of the land that could be used for the casino has been tied up in a dispute with the heirs of a late tribal member.

The tribal gaming enterprise board was prepared to spend $2 million on evaluations at the site. But the council tabled the resolution last month, the Scout reported.
