The Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians in California plans to open a $36 million casino hotel in March 2013.

The 128-room hotel sits next to the Viejas Casino. Construction has created 400 jobs and the hotel itself will employ 60 people.

“What it means to the East County is jobs,” Chairman Anthony said yesterday, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported.. “For tribal members, it’s a matter of pride of what we are able to do. It adds to our bottom line of profitability so that we can provide more services to our people and more charitable efforts. The bottom line is, we’ll be giving back to the community.”
