Nottawaseppi Huron Band cuts casino police service contract

The Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi in Michigan has ended a police services agreement at its casino.

The tribe agreed to pay Emmett Township for law enforcement services at the FireKeepers Casino. But now that the tribe has started its own police force, the contract will be ending on March 1.

The tribe will continue to pay the town for fire and emergency medical first responders.
