The Mohegan Tribe of
Connecticut is seeking to open a second commercial casino in Pennsylvania.
The tribe signed a partnership to build a casino in Philadelphia. The license for the site was previously held by a group that included the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal
Nation.
“There is no doubt that Mohegan Sun is a perfect fit with Market East Associates and the 8th and Market project,” Mohegan Chairman Bruce "Two Dogs" Bozsum said in a press release. “Over the past 16 years we have established ourselves as leaders and experts in exciting destination creation – and the 8th and Market site in Philadelphia, at the center of Philadelphia’s business, retail, convention center, hotel and historic district, is a premier location for our next success.”
The Mohegans entered Pennsylvania in 2004 with a slot machine facility.
The Mohegan Sun at Pocono
Downs now offers table games.
