The Jena Band of Choctaw Indians in Louisiana is already making plans to expand its Class II gaming facility.

The Jena Choctaw Pines Casino opens to the public today. The 46,000-square-foot facility features more than 700 gaming devices, poker tables, a sports bar and a buffet.

The gaming floor was designed with a removable wall to make room for more space. Plans call for meeting facilities, a hotel, an RV park and other amenities in future phases of development.

"We have big plans," Chief B. Cheryl Smith told The Alexandria Town Talk. "This is the first step."
