The Massachusetts Gaming Commission has delayed the timeline for two commercial casino licenses, a move that affects three tribes. The commission originally planned to award the license for the eastern part of the state early this year but a decision likely won't be made until this fall. The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut is bidding on the license with the $1.3 billion Mohegan Sun Massachusetts. In southeastern Massachusetts, the commission is delaying the process while the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe waits for federal approval of its $500 million First Light Resort and Casino. The timeline could be delayed further in order to allow more applicants for the region.
