Two Cobell v. Norton court hearings this week

Two court hearings in the Cobell v. Norton Indian trust fund lawsuit are taking place in Washington, D.C., this week.

On Thursday, September 15, U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth [Court Web Site] is holding a hearing at 10am over the Bush administration's failure to produce documents for the recent information technology security trial. The Cobell plaintiffs say the government is in violation of a court order.

On Friday, September 16, the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals [Court Web Site] will hear the Bush administration's challenge to a historical accounting and structural injunction imposed by Lamberth. The hearing takes place during the 9:30am session before Judges Merrick B. Garland, Laurence H. Silberman and Stephen F. Williams.
