Native Harvest brings Native foods to the table

Native Harvest, the website and marketing arm of the White Earth Land Recovery Project, gives people a "non-European" taste of the world, Dara Moskowitz, the food writer for The Minneapolis City Pages says.
Founded by activist Winona LaDuke, Native Harvest and WELRP are harvesting tribal foods and preserving tribal lands. Some of the products offered are wild rice, chokecherry fruit spread and strawberry jam. The website also sells arts and crafts.
"What we're trying to do here is restore our traditional food system and strengthen and restore the biodiversity of our ecosystem, while at the same time creating a long-term sustainable economy,' LaDuke says.
