Notah Begay touts Oneida Nation golf tournament


Navajo/Pueblo golfer Notah Begay III is hoping to draw top talent to the Oneida Nation's upcoming golf tournament.

As the official ambassador of the Turning Stone Resort Championship, the four-time PGA tour winner was in New York on Wednesday to promote the event. It takes place September 20-23.

"This event, the tournament staff, the tribe ... they're doing everything they can to make this a marquee event," Begay said, The Utica Observer-Dispatch reported.

The tournament is part of the PGA tour and has a purse of $6 million. The winner receives $1.08 million.
