Sen. Clinton reiterates Indian health support

Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-New York) returned to South Dakota on Thursday, vowing to make improvements at the Indian Health Service if she is elected president.

At a stop in Rapid City, Clinton said she would address diabetes, heart disease, fetal alcohol syndrome and other health disparities in Indian Country. She also promised more funding to the IHS.

Clinton and rival Democratic candidate Sen. Barack Obama (D-Illinois) are co-sponsors of the Indian Health Care Improvement Act.
