Court blocks Santa Ysabel from removing vice chair
The Inter-Tribal Court in southern California said the chairman of the Santa Ysabel Band of Mission Indians lacks the authority to remove the vice chairwoman.

Chairman Johnny Hernandez accused Vice Chairwoman Brandie Taylor of "blatant insubordination" and wrote her a letter to remove her. But she went to court to seek a declaration that he can't do so under the tribal constitution.

Hernandez and Taylor are fighting over the handling of the tribe's casino and other issues< The North County Times reported.
