American Indian Movement Interpretive Center in Minnesota

Clyde Bellecourt, a member of the White Earth Nation, is bringing the American Indian Movement Interpretive Center to life in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Bellecourt, one of the founders of the American Indian Movement, said the interpretive center will be a place to showcase Indian history and culture. But he's quick to note the facility won't be a "museum"

“Museums are where they keep our skulls locked in vaults,” Bellecourt told The Twin Cities Daily Planet. “Our group is making live history by telling the truth."

The center is located in the historic Henry B. Frey House, which was built in 1892 using wood stolen from the White Earth Reservation.
