Sen. Hoeven seeks answers on Spirit Lake social services





Sen. John Hoeven (R-North Dakota) is meeting with federal officials to discuss social services on the Spirit Lake Dakotah Nation.

Hoeven met with Yvette Roubideaux, the director of the Indian Health Service after news reports highlighted problems with child welfare cases on the reservation.

“We want to ensure that the people, and especially the children, of the Spirit Lake Nation are receiving good care,” Hoeven said in a press release.

Hoeven is also meeting with the Bureau of Indian Affairs to discuss the issue.
