BIA and IHS schedule consultation about contract support costs

The Obama administration has scheduled a tribal consultation session to talk about contract support costs.

The Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Indian Health Service have agreed to fully fund support costs for self-determination contracts in fiscal year 2014. But Congress has directed the agencies to submit a work plan by May 17 in response to tribal concerns.

The consultation will take place Tuesday, March 11, at the Westin Washington Hotel on 1400 M Street NW in Washington, D.C. The session coincides with the winter session of the National Congress of American Indians.

Written comments are also being accepted until April 22, according to a notice published in today's issue of the Federal Register.
