Preliminary data shows rise in AIDS cases

The number of AIDS cases increased by 2.2 percent last year, according to preliminary data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The increase is the first notable jump in 10 years, the CDC said. The two groups most affected are gay men and bisexual mean, who showed a 7.1 percent rise, according to the initial data.
