Portable jail a draw of its own at Crow Fair

Forget the fancy dancers, the thousands in cash prizes and the top quality drums. It's the Bureau of Indian Affairs' jail that draws the attention at the annual Crow Fair on the Crow Reservation in Montana. According to BIA officials, other Indian law enforcement departments come to Crow to see how it's done. The jail, basically a tent, is affectionately called Little Alacatraz. "The people that are in here kind of dig it," Darren Cruzan, chief of police on the reservation, told The Billings Gazette.. "It's kind of cool to say you were in 'Little Alcatraz.'" Get the Story:
