Mont. holds Day of Honor for Crow Chief Plenty Coups
Monday, September 1, 2003

The state of Montana on Saturday held a Day of Honor for Crow Chief Plenty Coups.

Plenty Coups donated 190 acres of land to Big Horn County 75 years ago to preserve it for future generations. The state now manages his home as a park and museum for Crow artifacts.

Plenty Coups was the last traditional Crow chief. He led the tribe from nomadic to reservation life.
