First Nation requests relocation due to floods

The Dakota Plains First Nation of Manitoba has asked the Canadian government to relocate the entire reserve.

The reserve has been beset by floods that have damaged homes and have caused health hazards, residents say. But the Department of Indian and Northern Affairs says relocation is costly and is offering to install a $500,000 drainage system.
