Conn. town complains about land-into-trust request
Friday, September 5, 2003

The mayor of a Connecticut town is asking the Bureau of Indian Affairs for more time to comment on a land-into-trust request by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation.

Ledyard Mayor Wesley J. Johnson said the BIA hasn't provided information about the 87-acre application, according to a letter cited by The New London Day. The land is located within the tribe's existing reservation boundaries.
